For those who don’t have the time to read the primary text, or want to get their feet wet, publisher Routledge has released a series of books entitled Thinkers for Architecture
which aim to introduce and cover major philosophers who wrote about architecture.
The three tomes, Deleuze & Guattari for Architects, Irigaray for Architects and Heidegger for Architects offer a good introduction to their work.
While I agree with John that this series is about 15-30 years too late, these books will be a good introduction for for this generation’s paper architects, as all points are showing that we are sliding into a recession. Just think: if you read and digest the current and past literature, you can position yourself for that adjunct faculty position before the economy totally tanks in the next 12-18 months!
