An ex-cop is sought in double shooting after killing one woman and wounding another. The shooting happened on Engert Avenue east of McCarren Park:

An ex-officer who was caught up in a drug inquiry is now being sought in connection with a fatal shooting in Brooklyn that killed one 28-year-old woman and injured another.
Jerry Bowens, 43, was arrested last year on drug charges after internal affairs investigators accused Bowens and another officer of stealing cocaine and money to reward an informant for tipping them off.

This is the second shooting in Greenpoint, after the semi-automatic gunfire a the Production Lounge only a few weeks ago.
Update
From the New York Times comes word that Ex-Officer Suspected in Shooting Surrenders:

A former New York City police officer who is suspected of fatally shooting his 28-year-old former companion and wounding another woman in Brooklyn turned himself in about 3 a.m. Monday on Staten Island, the police said.
The ex-officer, Jerry Bowens, 43, was alone, unarmed and about a block from the 120th Precinct station house when he surrendered, a Police Department spokeswoman said. He was taken to the 94th Precinct station in Brooklyn.

The Brooklyn Museum gets the internet. They are posting in progress photos of Sun K. Kwak Enfolding 280 Hours Installation on Flickr:

Korean-born, New York City–based artist Sun K. Kwak is creating a site-specific work composed of approximately three miles of black masking tape in the fifth-floor Iris and B. Gerald Cantor Gallery. The mural-like piece will be affixed to the walls and pillars.
The exhibition’s title, Enfolding 280 Hours, references the number of hours the artist estimates it will take her and her assistants to install the piece in the gallery.

Cheers to the Brooklyn Museum!
